Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions you may have regarding ONOJ 2023.

Registration & Fees

Question: When is the conference?

  • Answer: The conference begins Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 8:00 am, and ends Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 1:15 pm. We encourage attendees traveling from out of the area to arrive by the evening of Monday, June 26th.

Question: Do I have to register?

  • Answer: Yes. Anyone planning to attend the conference needs to register through this online registration site. We will use this information to plan meals and space.  Click here to begin your registration.

Question: Is there a fee to attend?

  • Answer: Yes. The registration fee for all participants is $200. This fee includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday, and breakfast and lunch on Thursday, plus meeting materials, and wireless Internet access in the main meeting room. Some travel scholarships are available if you need assistance with funding your travel or the registration fee. Please click here to visit the fees page.

Question: Does the Registration Fee cover the cost of my hotel room and airfare?

  • Answer: No. You will be responsible for your travel expenses, unless other arrangements have been made.

Question: I am a presenter. Do I need to register?

  • Answer: Yes. All speakers and presenters need to register through this online registration site, though your registration fee will be waived. Seven Directions staff will provide you with a Discount Code you can enter during registration to waive the fee. ”Please select “General Participant” as your registration type during registration and enter your Discount Code.

Question: I am bringing my family, spouse, or traveling companion. Do they need to register?

  • Answer: No. This registration is only for attendees, presenters, staff and others who will attend the forum. Space at the forum is limited. Family members and traveling companions are welcome to join us at the evening reception and dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Please email Leo Egashira at seattleo@uw.edu if you plan to bring a traveling companion who is not registering for the conference to one of these meals, and we will be in touch with you about next steps.

Question: Can I invite others to attend?

  • Answer: Yes, provided you or they have the resources to cover the cost of their hotel and transportation needs. There are a few ways to invite others to attend. You can invite them by sharing the link to this Registration Site, or by emailing onoj@nnphi.org to request an invitation.

Question: How do I log back into my registration?

  • Answer: If you are already registered, click the link “Already Registered” located on the bottom of any of the event website pages. You will then be prompted to enter the email address used for your registration and your confirmation number. If you cannot locate your confirmation number, you can click a link to send your confirmation number to your e-mail address while on the already registered page.

Question: May I substitute my registration?

  • Answer: Unfortunately, once you have registered the system will not allow you to change your first name, last name or e-mail address. Please contact convenings@nnphi.org (Subject Line: Substitute ONOJ 2023 Registration) if you wish to substitute your registration.

Question: Forgot your confirmation number?

  • Answer: Click the link “Already Registered” located on the bottom of any of the event website pages. You will then be prompted to enter the email address used for your registration and your confirmation number. If you cannot locate your confirmation number, you can click a link to send your confirmation number to your e-mail address while on the already registered page.

Question: Can I get a refund on the fee if I cancel my registration?

  • Answer: Requests for cancellations or refunds must be received via email at onoj@nnphi.org. If the cancellation request is received on or before May 26, 2023, you will receive a refund of the paid registration fee less a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for no-shows or cancellations received after May 26, 2023. No refunds will be given for cancellation processed after this date. If you are unable to attend, you may send someone else in your place.

Question: Is there a group discount?

  • Answer: Yes: Register 3 people from the same organization at the same time and get the 4th person free. In order to receive the group discount, one person must register all four people at the same time, and then pay for the group with one transaction. You will only receive the $200 discount for the 4th registrant and the discount will only be applied using the group registration process.

Question: Do you accept Checks as payment for registration fees?

  • Answer: Yes, NNPHI accepts checks. Please make all checks payable to NNPHI or National Network of Public Health Institutes. Please mail all checks to the following address:

In-Person & Hybrid Attendance

Question: Is the conference being held in person?

Question: What are the COVID-19 safety protocols?

  • Answer: Our priority is the health and safety of our conference attendees, employees, and staff supporting ONOJ 2023. In partnership with the Mystic Lake Casino and Hotel, Seven Directions and NNPHI will adhere to all official government and local authority guidance, as well as any venue or location-specific regulations. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and guidelines.

Question: Will there be a way to attend virtually if I am not ready to attend an in-person conference (i.e. a hybrid option)?

  • Answer: Yes, we will be making select sessions available for virtual attendance. Please stay tuned for updates on the conference agenda to learn more about which sessions will be offered virtually.

Hotel & Transportation

Question: Where will I stay?

  • Answer: We have a block of rooms at the Mystic Lake Casino and Hotel, where the meeting will be held. We advise you to make travel and accommodation arrangements as soon as possible since flight rates may rise closer to the event and hotels can be very full during this period. Question: How do I make my room reservation?

  • Answer: During the registration you will be asked if you’d like to reserve a room. You must complete the reservation during registration. We have negotiated a group rate of $169.00 per night plus applicable taxes, currently 10.375%, in effect at the time of check in. This rate includes wireless internet in your guest room and complimentary use of the fitness center.

    The hotel guest room reservation deadline is 5:00 PM, Friday, May 26, 2023. To receive the room block discount, all hotel reservations must be made through the registration website. All registered attendees will be prompted to answer questions about their hotel room preference and provide a credit card to guarantee guest room reservations during the registration process. Please see event website’s Travel & Lodging page for details. If you registered, but did not make hotel reservations, please log back into the registration system using your confirmation number and email to make hotel reservations. Please contact onoj@nnphi.org for questions and assistance.

    A credit card is required to make the reservation. You will not be charged until the conference, or according to the hotel’s cancellation or no-show policies.

    Additionally, a confirmation number will be sent directly from the hotel 1-2 weeks prior to the meeting.

Question: When is the hotel room block deadline?

  • Answer: The hotel room block deadline is 5:00 PM, Friday, May 26, 2023.

Question: What if I have been told I am receiving travel funding?

  • Answer: If you are receiving travel funding, a Seven Directions staff member will email you a Discount Code to use during registration, and NNPHI will work directly with you to book your flights and hotel accommodations. When you register, please select “General Participant” under Registration Type then enter your discount code. Your travel arrangements will follow from there. Please contact ONOJ@nnphi.org with additional questions.

Question: Can I make my flight arrangements through the registration website?

  • Answer: No. You will need to make your own travel arrangements. You may want to check with your colleagues to coordinate travel plans. More information can be found on the Hotel and Travel page.

Question: How do I get there?

  • Answer: Information about traveling into Mystic Lake and directions on how to reach the hotel and casino can be found on the Hotel and Travel page.

Question: What is the conference attire?

  • Answer: Business casual. Room temperatures may vary so we suggest you dress in layers.

Question: Can I follow the event on social media?

  • Answer: You can visit Seven Directions’ Twitter profile to follow news about the Forum. When you arrive, tweet about your experience using the hashtag #ONOJ2023 or tag us, at @IndigenousPHI!
